Golf - Girls Varsity

The Gaucho Girls golf team has finally reached the end of a very successful season.  The team finished 2nd in SCL on October 20th at Oakmont which qualified them to contine on at the NCS Qualifier at Tilden Park in Berkeley on October 26th.

This was a tough course for the team as they were unfamiliar with it and the competition with 11 other teams and individuals was equally hard.  The players, Bell, Stewart, Becerra, Dighe, Turner and Emily Welter, who substituted for her sister Rebecca who was out with a neck injury, all did a great job and had a lot of fun.  The team finished in 7th place with a score of 584. 

Even though the season is over, the girls who will be returning next year are already talking of practice during the off season and are looking forward to an even better season next year.  The coaches whole heartedly agree.

I would like to thank all the girls who participated, especially the two seniors who had a hard time playing much because of their busy Senior year, Melaina Bergin and Emily McCarthy.  They will be missed next year.

I would also like to thank  Assistant Coach Rod Stewart and team Mom, Johnny Turner for all their help and assistance.
